We love our EdgeStar wine fridge; wanted to express my opinion on the quietness of the compressor, it is quiet, you can hear it kick on if you’re really listening but it’s not loud or annoying and it’s only for 30 seconds at the most. This is dual zone, if you are interested in storing reds on the top, this is specifically for whites, the bottom portion can be temp set low or high enough for reds and or whites. So you can set the temp low enough to be all for white wines but not all for reds. Hope that makes sense. The very bottom tray is just an extra tray which is where I add extra reds and my champagne. The width is really made for the standard size wine bottles, champagne fits on the very bottom row. Great purchase, great price. Please allow the fridge to set unplugged for at lest two full days before plugging, per the directions. Cheers!?Fridge looks nice and seems to be working fine. I had none of the shipping damage or DOA problems I have seen in other reviews. Seems to be holding temperature on top and bottom sections.Funny thing about these wine coolers in this price range at least. They are always overstating the number of bottles that fit in there. Kind of like how many people can fit in a volkswagon,... anecdotal. You could stuff it up to 46 I suppose but it would be a trick to use it comfortably. You lose a couple of bottle spots with the temperature control panel which is unfortunately designed. Also, most bottles scrape on the rack above it. But still, works fine for me.In theory this could hold 46 bottles but since bottles vary in shape, 35-40 is a realistic expectation. The two zone capability works fine. Actually I put beer bottles in the top set to 40 degrees and the wine in the bottom at 54 degrees and am satisfied with the results. Noise is not a issue to even when it turns on the cooler I only hear it if I focus on the noise.I was shopping for quite awhile looking for the right cooler. We had a very restrictive area and this cooler fits well. After looking at several reviews of the EdgeStar vs. others, I narrowed my choice to the EdgeStar and one other brand. Price difference of a few hundred dollars led me to the EdgeStar. Reviews were similar. I could have saved a few hundred from what I paid for the EdgeStar on other brands I researched, but reviews were horrible. I have had it for about a month now, and so far, so good. The only negative is that the spacing of the shelves is tight and I am not sure how you really can get 46 bottles inside, but I have not really spent a lot of time trying to focus on it. Maybe after the holidays I will figure it out.So far it's maintaining consistent temperatures, but it is a bit loud and the comments concerning the circulating fan between the zones running every thirty seconds are correct. So if this is in another room or this noise is not irritating, not a bad appliance. Had a venotemp before this that lasted 3years, was quiet and a little more functional...but cost more.Just received- easy install for under the counter- it would be helpful if the instructions included loading plans for various sizes of wine bottles- the method of figure it out on your own was less helpful. Temperature control in wonderful for both zones- am sure we will like this- This is my first use of a wine cooler so as a newbie at the start- seems great. If you purchase one of these- register it or go to the EdgeStar website and view the excellent setup instruction videos which show how to change the door and to remove and install the activated charcoal filter. That was very helpful. JerryWorks as advertised. Best price on the market, the temperature is consistent, however I did not manage to get 46 bottles to fit (it was a little tight for some of the reds). Overall this is a great purchase, looks fantastic in my kitchen, and is quiet enough to be unnoticeable nearly 100% of the time.fits well, works perfect.
